Spec-Fic Mad Libs

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Mad Libs is a word game where one player prompts others for a list of words to substitute for blanks in a short story, before reading the – often comical or nonsensical – story aloud. Spec-Fic Mad Libs takes this game and applies it to passages taken from published science fiction, fantasy and other speculative fiction works. The panellists will prepare a few such passages, selecting the specific names, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, exclamations, etc., to remove and then presenting the audience with a list of the lexical category for each word that needs replacing. Once alternate words have been provided by the audience, the resulting Mad Libbed passage will be read aloud.
